A short story about us
If you ever had the honor of meeting Charles Holloway—affectionately known as Hercules or @herc_o_g—you know his life’s mission was to inspire holistic health, spiritual growth, and community well-being.
Therefore, in his honor, our family created Hercules Acres, a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable farm in Columbia, South Carolina, dedicated to continuing his legacy of healing and stewardship.
My father was a gifted herbalist, healer, and spiritual teacher—an esoteric sage deeply rooted in metaphysical and holistic traditions. He studied under mentors such as Dr. John Moore and Kanya Ke’Kumbha in Harlem, New York, and shared his gifts through the Tree of Life on 125th Street, where he taught the art of nourishing both body and spirit through herbs, food, and wisdom.
Today, at Hercules Acres, every seed we plant and every tree we nurture carries forward his vision: to cultivate organic fruits and vegetables that not only feed the body but also strengthen the bond between people, community, and the land. Through regenerative farming, education, and outreach, we work to restore balance—honoring the earth and the ancestral practices that sustain us.

Our Story: Growing with Peace, Love & Permaculture
Our Logo, Our Legacy
The Hercules Acres logo captures the spirit of this mission. At its heart is a bust of Hercules—symbolizing strength, resilience, and the harmony between humanity and nature. His hair and beard, formed from lush green foliage, represent our deep connection to the land and our commitment to permaculture. Framed within a heart overflowing with fruits, vegetables, and the tools of cultivation, it celebrates abundance, community, and the cycles of renewal.
Together, these symbols and stories remind us why we grow: to care for people, protect the planet, and build a sustainable future grounded in Peace, Love & Permaculture.

Growing Regeneration — One Container at a Time
At Hercules Acres, we cultivate more than crops — we cultivate connection, resilience, and regeneration.
Our farm is a living example of how abundant, nutrient-rich food can be grown organically in containers using permaculture design that respects the Earth and uplifts the community.
Every container is part of a self-sustaining ecosystem — cycling nutrients, conserving water, and nurturing biodiversity. By combining ancestral growing knowledge with modern regenerative techniques, we transform small spaces into thriving food systems that feed both people and planet.

Rooted in Purpose
At Hercules Acres, our mission follows the three ethics of permaculture:
Earth Care – Regenerating soil, saving water, and eliminating harmful chemicals.
People Care – Growing fresh, chemical-free food and sharing knowledge through workshops and community engagement.
Fair Share – Giving back through food donations, volunteer programs, and youth education initiatives.
Our containers may be small, but our vision is vast — to grow a network of resilient, eco-conscious communities who understand that healing the Earth begins right where we stand.
Our Approach
Permaculture Principles in Practice
We design our organic container systems to work with nature — not against it.
Through composting, companion planting, and closed-loop organic nutrient cycles, we create a living network that produces more while wasting less.
Each container is:
Filled with organic living, compost-rich soil teeming with beneficial microbes.
Watered through efficient drip and rain-harvesting systems.
Surrounded by pollinator plants that attract bees, butterflies, and beneficial insects.
This circular design means that what’s harvested from the Earth is always replenished — a true model of sustainability in action.
Why It Matters
Food insecurity, soil loss, and climate change are pressing challenges — but solutions grow from the ground up.
By proving that sustainable agriculture can flourish anywhere, Hercules Acres empowers others to reimagine how we grow and share food.
Through our work, we:
Reduce waste and carbon footprint by reusing and recycling organic materials.
Restore natural cycles of fertility and biodiversity — even in urban or limited spaces.
Educate and inspire others to cultivate food sovereignty and ecological balance.
We’re not just farming — we’re fostering a movement for living soil, thriving people, and resilient communities.
Join the Movement
Every seed planted at Hercules Acres tells a story of regeneration.
Whether you support our programs, attend a workshop, or volunteer, you become part of a growing ecosystem of change-makers dedicated to a healthier planet.
Together, we can cultivate abundance, restore balance, and grow the future — one container at a time.

Hercules Acres provides fresh, organic produce that truly nourishes both people and the planet.
